About 60 percent of a person’s body consists of water or as much as 11 gallons. Water is essential to every cell of the body, so it is not surprising that a recent study found that water could make your thinking sharper.

The scientists put the findings in the British Psychological Society Annual Conference in London, that the student who brought water and drink it when exams can earn higher test scores than his colleagues who did not bring drinking water.

Researchers hypothesize that drinking water can increase students’ thinking, helping to keep them calm and reduce anxiety that may hinder performance when doing the exam.

Other studies have also suggested that the body is hydrated or getting enough water intake can make a sharper memory, mood is stable and strong motivation, so that it can solve problems easily.

Keeping your body to stay hydrated not only affects your brain, but also provide other advantages.

1. Prevent dry mouth

Drinking enough water can prevent your mouth from feeling dry. Dry mouth can cause bad breath, even can promote tooth decay.

2. Improve heart health

Dehydration lowers your blood volume, so that your heart must work harder to pump blood with small amounts in order to meet the need of oxygen in the cells of the body. By drinking enough water, the heart can work properly.

3. Maintain body temperature

Your body releases heat by expanding the blood vessels near the skin surface. So that more blood flow to dissipate more heat into the air as well.

Therefore, the temperature of the body does not get hot because the activity of the blood vessels near the skin surface, you need to meet the body’s need for water.

4. Muscles and joints can work better

If you are well hydrated, the water inside and outside the muscle cells to contract to provide nutrients and remove waste in the muscles. Water is also important for lubricating the joints.

5. Make the skin more supple

When a person is severely dehydrated, the skin tends to be less elastic. This condition is different from the dryness of the skin as soap, hot water and exposure to air dry.

6. Clean the toxins from your body

Your kidneys need water to filter blood and remove waste in the form of urine. Keep the body hydrated can also help prevent urinary tract infections and kidney stones.

If you are severely dehydrated, the kidneys may stop working and cause the toxins in your body develops.
